The Department of Finance has announced the extension of major COVID-19 financial support programs to support economic recovery.
Financial support for businesses are available through the Calgary Reopening Grant. This support is available for restaurants, pubs, bars, fitness centres, nightclubs and live music venues.
The rules of the CEWS have been modified for periods 5 (July 5, 2020 to August 1, 2020) to 10 (November 22, 2020 and ends on December 19, 2020) with transitional rules available for periods 5 and 6.
Update (January 25, 2021): Alberta's SME Relaunch Grant Eligibility Change: New businesses that began operating between March 1 and October 31, 2020 and meet the updated 30% threshold can apply for the grant starting February 4, 2021.
One of the economic measures announced by the Federal Government to help businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic is the Canada Emergency Business Account.
Update (December 8, 2020): Starting December 4, 2020, businesses can now access the second CEBA loan of up to $20,000, on top of the initial $40,000 that was available to small businesses
