Yes, the CRA can call you and it is not a scam

CRA Scam in Calgary

The Calgary Police recently alerted the public on aggressive scammers claiming to be from the CRA and the Calgary Police Service. Scammers contact members of the public randomly using the name of Staff Sergeant Verheul (a member of the Calgary Police Service Economic Crimes Unit) without verification.
