CRA starts Consultations on the Disability Tax Credit this monthin Canadian Government News and Updates
The CRA recently announced the start of consultations to support the Disability Tax Credit Promoters Restrictions Act this month of November. The Disability Tax Credit Promoters Restrictions Act is a private members bill initiated by Cheryl Gallant, Member of Parliament for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke. This Act proposes to limit fees that can be charged for helping complete a disability tax credit request, and ensure that more money remains with the persons with disabilities and their caregivers.
The upcoming consultations will aim to provide a venue for Canadians with disabilities, their caregivers, promoters, tax professionals, qualified practitioners and members of the general public to give their feedback on how the CRA can simplify the Disability Tax Credit application process. These consultations will also provide the CRA with feedback that will in turn help the government to develop regulations under the Disability Tax Credit Promoters Restrictions Act.
If you would like to participate in person in these upcoming consultations or submit feedback online, please visit: www.cra.gc.ca/dtcconsultations.
